A red line drawing was added to the spine in January 1940 4/- and it became plain white in March 1942 5/- with the book reduced in size to 8¼ X 5¾. Think i prefer unknowns, or the ones that do it very well (Stephen Fry for eg) Kate was very good and I liked the way she portrayed most of the characters, but it was odd listening to someone so familiar. I have downloaded and listened to this series, but I dont know about any others. Would you listen to another book narrated by Kate Winslet? Especially to Connie in The Folk of The Faraway Tree, who yes, was annoying, but realistically not as unpleasant or arrogant as the others! I found the children, and even the 'adults' Silky, Moonface and Saucean Man to be really mean at times. Love them all for nostalgic reasons, though they aren't actually always very nice people.
